I began cooking as soon as I could stand on a chair and reach the top of the kitchen counter. I wanted to grow up to be a "cooker" and I love my life as a chef, cooking instructor, cookbook author, and food writer.
Bringing people together with beautiful and delicious food is what I do best. Nothing makes me happier than seeing people gathering around a table enjoying great food and creating special memories.
I got my start as an event planner for Glamour and Vogue magazines where creating that wonderful mix of elegant ease became my specialty. From there I entered the professional culinary program at Tante Marie's Cooking School, graduating in 2001. With both professional culinary training and event planning expertise, I personally oversee every detail of your event from intimate dinner parties to full-service weddings. You will find me buzzing around the kitchen and obsessing over each platter of food that is served, making sure that you and your guests have a scrumptuously wonderful time.
I have written six cookbooks: The Lunch Box, Williams-Sonoma's Soup of the Day, One Pot of the Day, Vegetable of the Day, Healthy Dish of the Day, Pizza Night. I have 3 more books that are soon to be released: Pasta Night, Chicken Night & Taco Night.
I have contributed to Parenting Magazine and have been a guest writer on the website for Pottery Barn Kids.
I live in Northern California with my tireless taste-testers: my husband and our three beautiful young daughters.
